Veterans Tip of the Week – Home Heating Assistance
Why is your local Veteran’s Coffee Social worth your time?
Because RESOURCES ARE EVERYWHERE and the coffee socials are a great way to find out about them!
At a recent Veteran Coffee Social, thank you Adam Curcuru and Cape Ann Veterans Services, I learned about a great local home heating assistance program on CapeAnn MA which helps people (both veterans and non-veterans) with home heating expenses. Called Action Inc. (https://actioninc.org/), they do much more than just the home heating assistance program. They have everything from home heating assistance to energy efficiency to emergency housing and education programs. With winter still here, and per their website, “Action Inc.’s Fuel Assistance program is designed to help you pay your energy bills. This free, no-cost program is available to anyone who meets eligibility guidelines. All you have to do is apply.”
As impressed with everything that Action, Inc. is doing, there is so much more. They are part of larger consortium of non-profit groups, called the Community Action Partnership National Office they offer similar programs across the country. There are literally dozens of groups in NH and MA alone. Look here to find one near you: https://communityactionpartnership.com/find-a-cap/
Here are a few more resources:
Federal The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
NH State resources: https://www.nh.gov/osi/energy/programs/fuel-assistance/
MA state Resources: https://www.mass.gov/service-de…/learn-about-fuel-assistance
A Dept. of Labor cross-over program: https://www.careeronestop.org/…/Ben…/housing-and-energy.aspx
Don’t sleep in the cold under layers of blankets, don’t use your oven or space heater to stay warm. Reach out to Action Inc. or a similar organization near you. You don’t know what you might qualify for, if you don’t ask. They are also experts on other resources that might be available in you, so it is worth a call or a few clicks to check things out.
As always, please feel free to PM me if you have questions regarding you VA Benefits. If I don’t know the answer, we will find it together. #gogetrated #earnedthroughservice

Greetings my name is Rich,
I own U.S Veterans and I am a Veteran. I am making a website to help and inform US Veterans. I have many sites I own so I am a little slow at times. For those of you that have been following me this is my final answer for this website U.S. Veterans! I will be populating and updating it over the next few months as the site grows I hope to open it up more for veterans to log into and help and inform others of their experiences by early 2021.. I hope you find something helpful here and be sure to check back for updates. I have many news sites, you will find the RSS Feeds for those sites on U.S. Veterans.
